Bubbly Food Hall near New Albany will close March 31 after lawsuits, receivership, and vendor exits

Closure scheduled for March 31 at Central College Road property
Bubbly Food Hall, the suburban food hall located at 6065 Central College Road near New Albany, is set to cease operations on March 31, 2026, ending a venture that opened less than three years ago. The closing date has been confirmed by an operator from one of the remaining in-hall concepts, as the property changes hands and the food hall model is discontinued at the site.
The venue debuted in April 2023 as a multi-tenant dining destination spanning roughly 15,000 square feet. At launch, it combined a rotating lineup of food stalls with multiple bars and an event space designed for gatherings of up to about 125 people.
From high-profile opening to rapid turnover among tenants
When Bubbly Food Hall opened in 2023, it entered a competitive central Ohio market for shared dining concepts. Its initial roster included eight vendors offering cuisines ranging from sushi and Middle Eastern fare to barbecue, chicken, crepes and dessert.
By early 2024, several original tenants had departed, and new concepts were brought in to fill vacated stalls. The operator described the first year as a learning curve in coordinating multiple small businesses under one roof and building recurring traffic through programming and events.
As the closing approached, only one of the original eight vendors remained in operation. In March 2026, the Korean fried chicken concept Crunchick publicly announced plans to leave the food hall ahead of the March 31 shutdown, with its last day at the venue set for March 28.
Lawsuits and foreclosure proceedings shaped the final year
Legal and financial disputes became central to the food hall’s trajectory. Court filings in early 2024 detailed claims tied to unpaid balances on promissory notes totaling several million dollars. A subsequent foreclosure lawsuit in March 2024 led to the property being placed under receivership, transferring day-to-day oversight to a court-appointed third party while litigation continued.
The legal process culminated in a court-ordered auction in late 2025, after which Fairbridge Strategic Capital purchased the property. A joint motion filed in February 2026 to dissolve the receivership referenced March 31 as the final operating date for the food hall.
Vendors affected by the shutdown
Concepts operating at the venue during its final weeks included:
- Kiku Sushi Bar
- Crunchick
- Rhino Smashburger
- Hibachi Run
- Boba Paradise Cafe
- El Burrito Bowl
- Dhaba Kitchen
- Zero’s Pizza
By the end of March, the location will no longer operate as a food hall, with the incoming ownership opting not to continue the concept.
The closure closes a brief chapter for a development that aimed to bring an urban-style, multi-concept dining destination to a rapidly growing suburban corridor. What comes next for the building has not been publicly detailed in the court filings referenced in recent proceedings.
