Public Service Announcement: Presidents’ Day Holiday Schedule

In observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday on Monday, February 16, 2026, most City of Columbus administrative offices will be closed. Residents are advised that these closures will impact several essential city services throughout the holiday weekend and the following week.

  • Refuse and Recycling Collection: All collections scheduled for Monday, February 16, will be delayed by one day. The rotating schedule will continue through the remainder of the week, with Friday collections occurring on Saturday, February 21.
  • City Parking: On-street parking meters will not be enforced on Monday, February 16. However, all other parking restrictions, including residential permit zones and emergency routes, remain in effect.
  • Public Facilities: City community centers and regional parks and recreation offices will be closed on the holiday. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, February 17.

Winter Safety: Seasonal Parking and Snow Emergency Regulations

The Department of Public Service reminds residents that winter parking regulations remain in active effect through April 15, 2026. Under Columbus City Code Section 2157.04, the city maintains strict enforcement for designated snow routes during declared emergencies.

In the event of a Snow Emergency declaration, vehicles parked on designated “No Stopping” routes are subject to immediate ticketing and towing. This is necessary to allow snow removal equipment to clear primary arterial streets safely. Residents are encouraged to utilize off-street parking whenever significant snowfall is forecasted to avoid interfering with public safety operations.

Current activities include utility coordination and final site preparation along the 9.3-mile corridor.
