Project launches with site work and a late-2028 completion target

Construction is underway on a new outpatient cancer center planned for OhioHealth’s administrative campus at 3430 OhioHealth Pkwy. in Columbus. Work began in March with construction fencing installed to enclose the surface parking lot south of the campus, marking the start of site preparation. OhioHealth estimates the project will be completed in late 2028.

The facility is planned as a five-story building of about 199,000 square feet on the south side of the campus. It is designed to connect directly to the first through fourth floors of the existing administrative campus structure, integrating clinical operations with the current site’s footprint.

Centralizing outpatient cancer services near Riverside Methodist Hospital

OhioHealth says the new center will serve as a centralized destination for outpatient cancer care. The plan includes relocating certain services and programs currently based at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital and the Bing Cancer Center to the new administrative campus location. The stated intent is to consolidate outpatient cancer services in one place to support coordinated scheduling, diagnostics and treatment in a single setting.

Construction began this month with the installation of fencing to enclose the surface parking lot south of the campus, with completion estimated for late 2028.

Planned services: oncology clinics, imaging, lab and transplant care

OhioHealth’s project outline lists a broad set of outpatient services and programs expected to be housed in the new center, including:

  • Radiation oncology
  • Surgical oncology
  • Medical oncology
  • Blood and marrow transplant
  • Infusion services
  • Imaging
  • Laboratory services
  • Specialized cancer clinics
  • Supportive and wellness services
  • Space to add new programs and services over time

While OhioHealth has not released a detailed service-by-service move timeline, the scope indicates an emphasis on combining physician visits, diagnostics and treatment delivery—such as infusions and radiation therapy—into a single outpatient hub.

Columbus Oncology & Hematology to relocate a practice to the new site

The project also expands OhioHealth’s collaboration with Columbus Oncology & Hematology. The practice is expected to relocate its Jasonway Avenue location to the new center, joining two other shared sites already operating in the region: the Dublin Cancer Center and the Westerville Cancer Center.

Administrative campus work arrangements unchanged

OhioHealth states that the construction project does not alter current work-status arrangements for associates based at the administrative campus. Employees will remain in their existing in-office, hybrid, or at-home configurations as the project progresses.
