Second location planned for West Broad Street

Losanti, a Cincinnati-based steakhouse operated by Crown Restaurant Group, has set an opening window for its first Columbus restaurant, targeting an “early 2026” debut in Franklinton’s Gravity development. The restaurant is planned for 440 W. Broad St., on the ground floor of the mixed-use Gravity complex west of Downtown.

The Columbus project marks Losanti’s first expansion outside Cincinnati. The original restaurant operates in Over-the-Rhine at 1401 Race St., near Washington Park, and opened in 2019.

What is confirmed about the Columbus site

The Franklinton location is expected to occupy space previously used by Taft’s Brewpourium, a Cincinnati brewery concept that operated in the Gravity development and closed in October 2024. Plans described for the buildout include three patios, with one intended for general full-service dining and two reserved for private events. Seating capacity has been described at roughly 185 guests.

Gravity is a large mixed-use development in Franklinton that includes residential buildings, commercial space, and street-level retail and restaurant bays along West Broad Street. The Losanti space sits within the broader cluster of new and existing tenants that have been part of Franklinton’s recent shift toward denser, amenity-driven development.

Restaurant concept and menu positioning

Losanti presents itself as a modern steakhouse with an Italian influence, pairing classic steakhouse cuts with house-made pastas, cocktails, and a structured wine program. Publicly available menus for the Cincinnati location include prime steaks sold by the ounce, steak-and-frites options, and a full bar selection that ranges from standard cocktails to premium “reserve” pours.

In earlier reporting tied to the Columbus expansion, the concept has been described as a “boutique” steakhouse. Those descriptions have highlighted offerings such as oysters, French onion soup, and filet-focused steakhouse dishes, alongside pasta and curated wine selections.

What remains unclear

While an opening window has been stated, an exact grand-opening date and reservation launch timeline for the Columbus restaurant have not been publicly finalized in the available materials. Details such as hiring timelines, final hours of operation, and the extent to which the Columbus menu will mirror Cincinnati’s have also not been formally confirmed.

  • Planned location: 440 W. Broad St., Franklinton

  • Stated opening window: early 2026

  • Concept: steakhouse with Italian-influenced elements, cocktails, and wine program

Losanti’s Columbus opening adds another destination restaurant to the Gravity corridor, a stretch of West Broad Street that has increasingly mixed residential density with street-level dining and entertainment uses.

For Franklinton, the arrival of an established Cincinnati restaurant brand continues a pattern of cross-market expansion into Columbus neighborhoods where new mixed-use projects provide large-format restaurant footprints, patio potential, and event-capable spaces.
