Maumee mother faces child endangerment charge after alleged feces injection into child’s IV in Columbus

Allegation centers on two incidents at Nationwide Children’s Hospital
A 35-year-old woman from Maumee has been charged with child endangerment following allegations that she injected fecal matter into her child’s intravenous line while the child was hospitalized in Columbus.
The charge stems from incidents reported on Feb. 6, 2026, and Feb. 8, 2026, at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The allegations are contained in a criminal complaint that describes what hospital staff reported observing and what investigators say is shown on in-room surveillance video.
What the complaint alleges happened on Feb. 6 and Feb. 8
In the first reported incident, hospital staff told police they saw the child’s mother, identified in the complaint as Tiffany Le Sueur, inject a “foreign substance” into the child’s IV port on Feb. 6. Staff reported that police were notified at the time and that the hospital planned to monitor future visits as a precaution.
Two days later, on Feb. 8, staff again contacted law enforcement, stating they observed the mother inject what they believed to be human waste into the child’s IV. Police detained her, and the child received medical treatment, the complaint states.
The complaint describes surveillance video from the patient’s room that investigators say shows the woman going into a bathroom with a cup, placing what appeared to be fecal matter into a syringe, and then injecting it into the child’s IV line on the child’s left hand.
Court status and bail conditions
Le Sueur appeared in court on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026. As part of bail conditions, the court ordered that she not have unsupervised contact with minors.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 19, 2026. At that stage, prosecutors typically outline the basis for the charge, and the court considers whether sufficient evidence exists to move the case forward.
What is known—and what remains unconfirmed
The publicly available complaint summary outlines what staff said they observed and what investigators say surveillance video depicts. It does not provide the child’s age, the child’s underlying medical condition, or the medical findings that would confirm the substance’s identity through laboratory testing.
At this point, the allegations have not been tested in court, and no conviction has been reported. The single charge publicly described is child endangerment.
