Raines wins management contract for Courtyard by Marriott Columbus, Mississippi, after ownership change in December

Management shift follows a recent sale of the 110-room property
Raines, a hospitality management, development and investment firm based in South Carolina, has been selected to manage the Courtyard by Marriott in Columbus, Mississippi, expanding its operational footprint in the region. The management agreement centers on the Courtyard by Marriott Columbus, a 110-room hotel located at 1995 6th Street North.
The hotel is owned by Krish Hotel LLC, which purchased the property in December 2025. With the ownership transition completed, the operator selection places day-to-day oversight—staffing, service delivery, brand compliance, maintenance standards and revenue management—under Raines’ management platform.
Property profile: business travel amenities and meeting capacity
Courtyard by Marriott Columbus is positioned as a select-service hotel oriented toward business and short-stay travelers. On-property amenities include meeting space, a business center, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, on-site laundry and an on-site convenience store. Food and beverage service is anchored by The Bistro, the Courtyard brand’s signature restaurant concept, which offers breakfast and dinner service.
Marriott’s property information for the Columbus hotel also lists event and meeting facilities and emphasizes flexible common areas designed for work and social use, reflecting the Courtyard brand’s positioning within Marriott International’s portfolio.
Why the Golden Triangle matters to hotel operators
The Courtyard property sits within Mississippi’s “Golden Triangle,” a multi-city economic area anchored by Columbus, Starkville and West Point. For hotel owners and managers, the region functions as a shared lodging market where demand can be influenced by a mix of corporate travel, public-sector trips and regional events.
In practical terms, management changes at branded hotels in such markets often focus on stabilizing operating performance and protecting brand standards while aligning staffing and service levels with local demand patterns.
Raines’ portfolio and brand experience
Raines is led by managing partners Grey Raines and David Tart and reports a portfolio of 55 hotels totaling 5,949 rooms (“keys”) across the U.S. Southeast. The company operates a mix of branded hotels and boutique properties, and it maintains experience working with multiple major hotel brand systems, including Marriott.
New operator: Raines (management agreement secured in early March 2026)
Owner: Krish Hotel LLC (acquired the asset in December 2025)
Hotel: Courtyard by Marriott Columbus, 1995 6th Street North, Columbus, Mississippi

The management transition places responsibility for daily operations and Marriott brand execution under a new third-party operator, while ownership remains with Krish Hotel LLC.
No renovation plans, staffing changes or operational timelines beyond the management award were detailed in the publicly available announcements. The hotel will continue to operate under the Courtyard by Marriott flag.
